By accessing and using Fabled ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Fabled is a literary journal that publishes flash fiction and microfiction. We provide a platform for writers to submit their short-form creative work and for readers to discover brief, compelling stories.
3. Development Status
Fabled is currently in development and may never officially launch or be released as a commercial product. By using the site and joining the waitlist, you acknowledge and accept this.
Fabled makes no guarantees regarding future availability or continued access to the Service or any particular content.
4. Waitlist and Access
The Service is currently in a pre-launch phase. By joining the waitlist, you will be notified if the Service becomes available. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to the Service or publication of submitted work.
5. Submissions and Intellectual Property
By submitting work to Fabled, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the original author or have the right to submit the work
- The work does not infringe upon any third-party rights
- The work has not been previously published elsewhere (unless otherwise specified in submission guidelines)
Rights: Upon acceptance for publication, you grant Fabled first publication rights and the non-exclusive right to display your work on our website and in our archives. You retain copyright and all other rights to your work. You are free to republish your work elsewhere after it appears on Fabled, though we appreciate credit and a link back to the original publication.
6. Content Standards
All submitted content must:
- Be original creative fiction
- Comply with word count requirements specified in submission guidelines
- Not contain illegal, defamatory, or harmful content
- Not violate any third-party rights
Fabled reserves the right to reject any submission for any reason.
7. User Conduct
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use of the Service. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service
- Using the Service for any commercial purpose without permission
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Submitting plagiarized or infringing content
8. Honorariums
Accepted writers may receive a modest honorarium as compensation for their published work. Payment terms and amounts will be communicated directly to accepted writers. Fabled reserves the right to modify honorarium amounts or payment structures at any time.
9. Content Disclaimer
The stories and content published on Fabled are works of fiction. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. The views and opinions expressed in published stories are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of Fabled.
10. Limitation of Liability
Fabled is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fabled shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Fabled. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.
12. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
